Jim Tsolomitis, lovingly referred to as Jim T. around the Clark construction sites, joined the company after 27 years in a high-stakes financial management career.
“Every day is a new day in construction, but there is still a structure to be followed from job-to-job”, that’s what Jim loves most about the work he does now. “Everyone needs housing, and working on affordable housing projects is incredibly gratifying. To build houses that my kids can afford, and that future generations are able to afford rather than being forced to live in their parents’ basement because they’re priced out of housing in this region”. He enjoys working on historical renovations, complicated custom homes, and large multifamily projects alike.
Ferncliff Townhomes was Jim’s first project, affordable housing built by Housing Resourced Bainbridge (HRB) but with elevated finishes. “It was satisfying to be a part of building [affordable living spaces] on Bainbridge Island”.
He also worked on the Roost project, which was unique in its use of Corten steel and ICF construction.
When asked about his core values, Jim shared that Integrity, Quality and Teamwork where important to him, both professionally and personally:
Integrity – if I say I’m going to do something I do it.
Quality – quality in everything. If there is way to do something better within budget and schedule, I want to do it.
Teamwork – I love working with a team, and it’s more gratifying to see my teammates succeed than for me to succeed. I appreciate the unique strengths and skills of my teammates and want to support them and their future opportunities.
Jim’s core values are evident in the quality of the work he produces and the relationships he has fostered over his years with Clark. Colleague, Mackenzie Bond shared that “Jim is easy to work for. As a superintendent, he’s one of those guys that will support the jobsite team and do what needs to be done to keep the project moving forward.”
Jim is an incredible asset to our company and a wonderful human and team member. His work ethic and attention to fine detail is evident in the quality of work he produces.
