City of Bainbridge Island

Clark Construction was thrilled to be awarded the contract from the City of Bainbridge Island to retrofit the former Harrison Medical Center into the new home of both the Bainbridge Island Police Station and Municipal Court. For more than 20 years, Police and Municipal Court staff have worked in buildings with numerous deficiencies that do not support modern law enforcement or appropriate accommodations for judicial services. Current facilities are a seismic risk, lack security, and are outdated for conducting effective and essential civic services. The city worked hard to find a viable solution to this problem and our team was excited to support their plan. The property selected includes a 3.13-acre parcel and an existing two-story building with approximately 18,000 square feet of space. This building was designed by Coates Design several years ago and they are working with us as the Architect of record on this extensive TI project.

The building is undergoing the following work to transform it from a medical building to a state-of-the-art municipal facility:

· Interview/interrogation room
· Storage room for evidence
· Intake/processing area
· Impound Area
· Municipal Court Room
· Judge’s Chambers
· Attorney Rooms
· Juror Deliberation Room
· Court Administration work areas and office
· Lunchroom and Fitness Area
· New Technology infrastructure
· Security System/Access Control
· Surveillance System

The project broke ground in early summer 2022 and is scheduled to be complete by early 2024.
