Clark recently launched its “Take a Coworker to Work” day, a job shadowing program where one team member shadows another’s job for a day. The goal being to help build more informal employee relationships, to create knowledge and respect between company functions and departments, and to eliminate any possible stereotypes that may have existed.
Recently our bookkeeper, Alexis, was able to get out from behind her desk to shadow Archie, one of our carpenters at our Pleasant Beach Village project. Alexis started working at Clark right before COVID hit and has been mostly working from home and has not met many team members or spent time out in the field at a job site. During their time Archie explained both individual tasks as well as overall building practices on a job site, and she was put to work installing cedar shingles, some trim work, and disassembling pump jacks. Alexis shared about the camaraderie she observed amongst the team at the site and gave a shout-out of respect for them working hard even in the hot summer weather.
