Situated on a peninsula overlooking Port Madison on the north end of Bainbridge Island, Sunny Point is a 3,900 square foot custom residence designed by BLOCK Architects and built by Clark Construction. Widely regarded as a work of art, the project embodies a Northwest modern aesthetic and a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.
The compound includes three distinct buildings: a main house, guest house, and over-water boatshed turned studio. Together, they create a retreat for rest, reflection, and gathering with friends and family. The main house features over 1,700 square feet of floor-to-ceiling windows, which is more glazing than the entire building’s footprint. These expansive windows blur the boundary between interior and exterior, filling the home with natural light and panoramic waterfront views.
Sustainability is central to the vision for Sunny Point. Key features include Insulated Concrete Form (ICF) construction, green roofs, rain gardens, native vegetation, a solar photovoltaic system, and comprehensive on-site stormwater management. Every detail, from materials to layout, was chosen to support long-term environmental performance while maintaining architectural excellence.
