Jeff began his construction work as a summer laborer for Fairbank Construction on Bainbridge Island while in high school in the early 80’s. He continued this summer work through his college years while earning a degree in Elementary Education.
After six years in a sixth-grade classroom (and more summers in construction), Jeff left education for a career in construction. He was at Fairbank for 10 years as a Project Manager, Safety Officer and Manpower Manager. He managed projects ranging from $15,000 decks to a $5M condo project. Most of his time was spent managing new custom homes.
Jeff then spent seven years in Kenya with his family, building and managing a 130-acre dairy farm and orphan outreach center. Returning to Bainbridge Island, he joined Rachele Turnbull in building Clark Construction. The partnership succeeded because of the shared values and vision of these longtime friends.
