We are excited to announce that our affordable housing apartment project at 7th & Hendricks in Port Townsend broke ground last week. Clark is honored to be the General Contractor for this 43 unit complex that is intended to house 130 people, including 35-40 children, from “low” and “very low” income brackets. There are to be units designed for people with developmental disabilities, people with diagnosed chronic mental illness, people recovering from substance abuse, families escaping domestic violence, and for families who have been homeless. The project includes an on-site Early Learning Facility. All units would be for households making less than below 50 percent of the area’s median income ($32,200 annually for a family of four in Jefferson County). No affordable housing apartments have been constructed in Jefferson County in more than a decade so this is considered an excellent opportunity to significantly address the affordable housing crisis in Jefferson County. The residential offerings at Pleasant Beach Village are expanding once more and Clark Construction continues as the General Contractor building these sought-after homes. The Corner Homes, designed by Wenzlau Architects are the newest and 3rd residential neighborhood Clark has built on this beautiful hillside, and consists of 22 units that come in 3 different configurations: twelve 1200sf single level units, two 1500sf two-story units, and eight 1100sf carriage homes. Loom House is honored in the Private House (M 2000-4000 sq ft) category after achieving Living Building Challenge 4.0 Certification this year, making it one of only four residences in the world, and the first renovated home, to do so. Inspired by weaving together people, place, community, and equity, Loom House provides owners with a prototype to renovate their homes using resilient retrofitting strategies.
